Delete your MileVoy account

You can do this yourself, in the app, in under a minute. You do not have to ask us.

In the app

  1. Open MileVoy and go to the You tab
  2. Tap Edit Profile, then scroll down and tap Close Your Account (in versions before 3.0: scroll to the bottom of the You tab and tap Close your account)
  3. Read what will be deleted, type the email address or phone number on your account to confirm, and tap Close my account

It happens straight away. There is no waiting period and no way to undo it.

What is deleted

What stays, and why

Messages you sent to a group stay in that group, with your name, photo and account removed from them. Deleting them would tear holes in conversations the other riders are still using — a meeting point, a change of route, a warning about a road — and they are not the ones leaving. Nothing in what remains identifies you.

The same goes for records that are also somebody else's: a group's ride recap still adds up for the riders who were there, the other rider's call history stays complete, and the log of who read whose emergency card keeps every entry, because it exists to hold people to account. Your name and photo come off all of them; what is left is a random account number that points at nobody. We also keep a record that the account was closed, and what was removed, as counts — no name, no email. Each privacy request you made is kept too, as proof that it was handled, with only its kind, its dates, its status and a random reference.

Groups you started carry on without you, and somebody else becomes the owner. If you are the last member of a group, that group is closed and everything in it is deleted with it.

If you cannot open the app

If you have lost the phone, or you cannot sign in, write to us and we will close the account for you. Send the request from the email address on the account so we know it is you.

How long anything is kept

Nothing is kept after deletion except where the law requires it, and today nothing does. A closed account cannot be restored.
